Now for the bad - The internal voice recognition system of the CX-5 (and probably other Mazda vehicles) SUCKS. Even though the "Directions" command was recognized, it constantly butchered the address that I spoke out, showing useless options on the navigation screen. I can't blame this on the SD card, as it is not converting my voice to text. I did not try to enter an address using any other method. The car does have Apple Car Play set up, and when I hit the voice button on the steering wheel and gave the same address, the address was recognized right away as being accurate.
But, back to the product itself. For the price, it was well worth it, as the map card was recognized instantly and all of the settings were available and working.
This aftermarket navigation card worked instantly and flawlessly It adds the speed and road signs to the heads-up display (HUD) and the dash.
An iPhone will connect and provide CarPlay maps but if you want your HUD to display full data, you need this card.
The Mazda sales rep quietly told me these cards worked but you had to make sure you had the right card for the right car. I have the right card for the right car.
It’s not updatable but for $50, I don’t care. I can buy an updated version of this card every 2 years and still be $250 ahead by the time I trade this CX-50 in for the next model.
I have to kick Mazda here. ALL of the 2023 CX-50 and CX-90 models. do not include this card, it's a $470 OPTION!
In my case, my $43k 2023 CX-50 doesn’t have basic navigation, it's "ala carte" - really? Talk about a remorseless cash grab. Pay Mazda back by skipping their $470 OEM Nav card and buying this $50 one instead. Hope that helps!
I also have a Palisade Calligraphy 2023 that wasn’t a whole lot more than the CX-50 and I didn’t need to screw around with an aftermarket SD nav car. Mazda needs to be better on this point.

So I figure 45 bucks and the positive reviews,I'll just go ahead and hit the order button.
I pop it in the slot and bam it just works on the first drive. Tried setting in a destination and it works fine. Has a few map views and I like a darker terrain view. Speed limit is available and quite a few other various settings which I haven't really played around with yet.
My car is a '23 cx5 carbon edition and this card works flawlessly.
The SD card came the next day and the instructions were easy to follow. I popped the car in with my car turned off, turned it on and it immediately worked. I set up my preferences and have been very pleased so far. We haven't used it on a trip yet but my husband was happy to see the speed limit displayed on the instrument panel and the red line it makes to let you know when you're speeding :)
For $50 bucks, it's worth giving it a try
Works perfectly. Now I just gotta figure out how it works or if/how I can enter a destination etc.

Not sure if this is Mazda OEM (it's manufactured in Japan), but works great. It's astonishing that dealerships sell these same cards for $400 - $450. Now I just have to decide what I'm going to buy with my hundreds of $$ savings!
Installation instructions are as follows:
1) insert card
2) turn on vehicle.
Done- now you have Nav.

Found this SD card on naviworld for a fraction of the cost at the dealer, installation was a snap, inserted the SD card and bingo GPS was on when I started the carPlug and Play at is best. Best buy I've had in a while. LOL
Just follow the simple installation instructions that came with the card.
Insert card. Start vehicle, Enter Navigation. Up and running . A+
