Update your Carminat TomTom / Carminat TomTom LIVE
Follow these instructions to update your Carminat:
- Navigate to the main menu of your Carminat TomTom and select “Remove SD card.“
- Wait for the message “You can now safely remove your SD card” to appear.
- Take out the SD card from your Carminat TomTom.
- Insert the SD card into the card reader connected to your computer.
- If you haven’t installed TomTom HOME on your computer yet, you can download the application from the link provided below.
- Once TomTom HOME is installed, navigate to the HOME menu and click “Update My System” if the application doesn’t automatically check for updates.
Note: If you wish to install a previously downloaded application, click “Add Traffic, Voices, Speed Cameras, etc.” followed by “Items on my computer.” If there’s a new application available, it will be displayed in the next window.

The selected items are then installed on your navigation device by HOME.
- Click OK .
- From the HOME menu, click Device > Disconnect System . You can then disconnect the navigation system from your computer.
- Turn off the Carminat TomTom and the radio in your vehicle and then insert the SD card into your Carminat.
- Turn on your vehicle’s ignition.
- Multiple screens are displayed. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the installation.
The installation takes approximately 2 minutes.
When the installation is complete, the Carminat TomTom will restart automatically. - The first part of the update is complete. Repeat steps 1-9 and download the Danger Zones service update for maps including France at no additional cost.
