Before Taking Any Action — Contact Our Support Team
Our support team is always ready to help you with your order, product compatibility, installation, activation, firmware updates and any technical questions.
We will do our best to review your request and provide assistance as quickly as possible.
In particular, if you are unsure whether a product is compatible with your vehicle, navigation system, firmware version, VIN or current map version, please contact us before placing an order.
Once a navigation product has been installed, activated, paired with a vehicle, linked to a VIN or otherwise modified through use, the options available for return or replacement may be affected.
Our support team can often help identify compatibility issues or installation problems before they result in an irreversible change to the product.
1. Navigation SD Cards — Physical Products
Navigation SD cards are physical products and are subject to the applicable statutory consumer rights for physical goods, subject to any applicable statutory exceptions and the specific condition of the product.
Before using a navigation SD card in a vehicle, customers should verify that the product is compatible with their vehicle, navigation system, firmware version, region and current system configuration.
Vehicle Binding and Activation
Certain navigation systems automatically associate or bind the navigation SD card with the vehicle or navigation system when the card is first used.
Depending on the navigation system, the customer may receive a warning or confirmation that the card will be associated with the vehicle. Other systems may perform the vehicle association automatically without requiring a separate confirmation.
Once a navigation SD card has been used with a vehicle and has been permanently or technically associated with that vehicle, the card may no longer be usable in another vehicle. Such a card is no longer a transferable or generally resalable navigation product.
Accordingly, where the card has been activated, permanently associated or otherwise rendered vehicle-specific through use with the customer’s vehicle, Navi-World will not accept the card as a standard resale return. Where permitted by applicable law, such a product is excluded from return once the vehicle-binding process has occurred.
Where mandatory consumer law nevertheless provides a statutory right of withdrawal, the customer may be responsible for any resulting loss of value to the maximum extent permitted by law, including where the card can no longer be resold or used with another vehicle.
A customer may inspect the SD card to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality. If the product has been handled beyond what is necessary for such inspection and its value has consequently decreased, Navi-World may seek compensation for the resulting diminished value where permitted by applicable law.
Installing, activating, modifying, formatting, copying, pairing or otherwise using an SD card may go beyond ordinary inspection.
2. Digital Maps and Downloadable Products
Digital products supplied without a tangible medium, including downloadable map files, firmware files, update packages, digital instructions and similar content, may be subject to different withdrawal rules from physical products.
Where permitted by applicable law, the right of withdrawal for digital content may be lost once supply of the digital content begins if:
- the customer expressly requested that delivery or performance begin before the end of the withdrawal period; and
- the customer expressly acknowledged that the right of withdrawal would be lost once performance begins.
Where these legal requirements have been satisfied, a customer cannot normally request a refund merely because they have changed their mind after digital delivery or access has started.
This does not affect statutory rights relating to defective, incorrect or non-conforming digital content.
3. PIN Codes, Activation Codes, Licence Codes and Vehicle-Specific Products
PIN codes, activation codes, licence codes and similar products may be generated specifically for a customer’s vehicle, VIN, body/chassis number, navigation system, map version or other information supplied with the order.
Products such as:
- vehicle-specific PIN codes;
- activation codes;
- licence codes;
- navigation licences;
- licences associated with a vehicle identification number (VIN), body/chassis number or other unique vehicle identifier;
- other products generated specifically for one particular vehicle or navigation system;
are considered customised or vehicle-specific products where their characteristics mean that they are generated, activated or licensed specifically for the customer’s vehicle.
Such products are not standard transferable products and cannot normally be resold or used for another vehicle.
Where applicable law permits customised or personalised products to be excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal, these vehicle-specific products are not eligible for cancellation or return once they have been generated, activated, issued or otherwise supplied specifically for the customer’s vehicle.
Where a product is instead legally classified as digital content or a digital service, the applicable rules concerning immediate performance and loss of the withdrawal right will apply.
The customer must therefore carefully verify the vehicle identification information and product compatibility before ordering.
If Navi-World supplied an incorrect code, licence or vehicle-specific product due to an error on its part, the customer retains the applicable statutory rights.
4. Wrong Product or Wrong Compatibility Selected by the Customer
Customers are responsible for checking product compatibility before ordering.
Depending on the product, compatibility may depend on:
- vehicle make and model;
- production year;
- navigation or infotainment system;
- head-unit generation;
- firmware version;
- current map version;
- geographic region;
- VIN or body/chassis number;
- part number;
- system software or hardware configuration.
If a customer selects or orders an incompatible product, this does not automatically mean that the product is defective or incorrectly supplied.
Customers should contact Navi-World before installation, activation or use if they are uncertain about compatibility.
Orders Made Without Prior Technical Consultation
Where the customer has not contacted Navi-World and has not received a compatibility confirmation from a Navi-World specialist before placing the order, the customer is responsible for ensuring that:
- the information provided about the vehicle is correct;
- the VIN, body/chassis number or other vehicle identification number has been entered correctly;
- the navigation or infotainment system has been identified correctly;
- the firmware version and current system version have been provided accurately where required;
- the selected map region and product version are correct;
- the ordered product is compatible with the customer’s vehicle and system.
Where the customer independently selects a product without prior compatibility consultation with a Navi-World specialist, the customer assumes responsibility for the compatibility and proper operation of the selected product, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Navi-World is not responsible for compatibility problems resulting solely from incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate information supplied by the customer or from the customer’s selection of an incompatible product without prior technical consultation.
This provision does not exclude or limit mandatory statutory rights where the product is defective, incorrectly described, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fails to conform to the contract.
5. Incorrect Product Supplied by Navi-World
If Navi-World supplies a product that is different from the product ordered, the customer should contact Navi-World as soon as reasonably possible.
Where Navi-World supplied the wrong product, the customer may be entitled to a replacement, refund or other statutory remedy depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
Navi-World will provide instructions for returning an incorrectly supplied physical product where a return is required.
6. Defective or Non-Conforming Products
Statutory rights relating to defective, damaged or non-conforming goods and digital content are separate from the voluntary or statutory right of withdrawal.
If a product does not conform to the contract, is defective, or does not correspond to the description provided at the time of purchase, the customer may have rights to repair, replacement, price reduction, refund or another remedy depending on the applicable law and circumstances.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits mandatory statutory rights.
Customers should contact Navi-World and provide a description of the problem together with relevant photographs, videos, error messages or other information that may help identify the issue.
7. Customer-Performed Installation and Firmware Updates
Some Navi-World products require the customer to install firmware, map data, software or other update files themselves.
Before beginning an installation or firmware update, the customer is responsible for ensuring that:
- the vehicle and infotainment system are compatible with the supplied product;
- the head unit is functioning correctly before the update;
- the vehicle has sufficient and stable electrical power;
- the supplied instructions are followed carefully;
- the update is not interrupted;
- files are not modified, renamed or altered unless expressly instructed;
- no incompatible third-party software or tools are used.
Navi-World is not responsible for damage, malfunction, loss of functionality or other problems resulting from incorrect installation, interruption of an update, insufficient power, incompatible equipment, modification of supplied files, use of third-party tools, pre-existing faults or other customer actions or omissions outside the supplied installation procedure.
The firmware files or update packages supplied by Navi-World are checked and are intended to correspond to the systems and versions described in the relevant product listing.
The customer assumes responsibility for carrying out a self-installation correctly and in accordance with the supplied instructions.
This section does not exclude or limit Navi-World’s responsibility where a problem is caused by a defective product, incorrect files supplied by Navi-World, an incorrect product supplied by Navi-World, or inadequate or defective installation instructions, to the extent required by applicable law.
8. OEM Navigation Systems, Map Data and Route Calculation
Navi-World is a reseller and distributor of navigation products and related services. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Navi-World is not the manufacturer of the vehicle, navigation system, map database or underlying navigation technology.
OEM navigation systems may use technology, map data or navigation services supplied by third parties. Navi-World does not control the internal operation of OEM navigation systems and cannot modify or guarantee:
- route calculation logic;
- route selection;
- estimated travel times;
- address recognition or geocoding;
- road classification;
- points of interest;
- traffic information;
- map coverage;
- navigation algorithms;
- the order or priority in which routes are calculated;
- whether the system considers a particular route to be the shortest, fastest or most suitable route.
Map databases may also contain outdated, incomplete or inaccurate information because the underlying data is created and maintained by the relevant manufacturer, cartographic provider or other third party.
Navi-World therefore does not guarantee that OEM navigation data will always contain every road, address, point of interest, traffic restriction or other geographical information, or that the navigation system will calculate a route that the customer considers correct or optimal.
This does not affect Navi-World’s responsibility to supply the product or digital content ordered and described in the relevant product listing.
9. Customer Responsibility During Vehicle Use
Navigation products are provided as driver assistance tools only.
The driver remains responsible for:
- complying with traffic laws;
- following road signs and traffic regulations;
- considering road conditions and temporary restrictions;
- verifying whether a suggested route is safe and legally permitted;
- maintaining proper control of the vehicle.
Customers must not rely exclusively on navigation instructions where doing so could create a safety risk or conflict with road signs, traffic regulations or actual road conditions.
10. Returning Physical Products — Customer Responsibility
When returning a physical product, the customer is responsible for taking reasonable care of the product until it is received by Navi-World or otherwise reaches the destination designated for the return.
The customer should use appropriate protective packaging and ensure that the product is adequately protected against damage during transportation.
The customer may be responsible for loss or damage occurring during the return to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This provision does not affect mandatory legal rules determining when the risk of loss or damage passes between the customer and the seller.
11. Tracking and Proof of Return
Navi-World strongly recommends using a tracked postal or courier service for all returns.
Customers should retain:
- the postal or courier receipt;
- the tracking number;
- proof of dispatch;
- proof of delivery, where available.
If a customer returns a product using ordinary untracked post and the package cannot be located or its return cannot be demonstrated, the customer may be unable to provide evidence that the product was returned.
Where applicable law places the burden of demonstrating the return on the customer, Navi-World may require appropriate evidence before processing a refund.
12. Returned Products — Packaging and Condition
Customers should return physical products in suitable packaging and, where reasonably possible, with all accessories, documentation and other items supplied with the order.
The customer may inspect the product to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality.
Where the product has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary for such inspection and its value has decreased as a result, Navi-World may make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by applicable law.
A deduction will not be made where prohibited by mandatory consumer law.
13. Refunds
Where a refund is legally due, Navi-World will generally issue the refund using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless another method has been agreed with the customer.
Where required by applicable law, the refund may include the cost of standard delivery selected for the original order. Additional costs resulting from the customer’s choice of a more expensive delivery option may not be refundable where permitted by law.
For returned physical products, Navi-World may withhold the refund until the product has been received or until the customer provides appropriate evidence that the product has been sent back, where permitted by applicable law.
Where legally permitted, Navi-World may deduct an amount corresponding to any diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functionality of the product.
For digital content supplied with the customer’s valid prior request for immediate performance and acknowledgement of the loss of the withdrawal right, no refund is generally due solely because the customer subsequently changes their mind.
14. Compatibility Problems and Technical Assistance
Before requesting a return because a navigation product does not appear to work, customers should contact Navi-World for technical assistance.
Depending on the product, Navi-World may request:
- photographs of the navigation system;
- firmware version;
- current map version;
- system information;
- VIN or other vehicle information;
- screenshots;
- photographs of the SD card or USB drive;
- error messages;
- videos showing the problem.
Customers should not modify, format or otherwise alter supplied media or files before contacting Navi-World if doing so could make diagnosis more difficult.
Technical assistance does not remove or reduce any statutory consumer rights.
15. Products Requiring Customer-Supplied Vehicle Information
Certain Navi-World products require vehicle-specific information, such as a VIN, body/chassis number, system identification, firmware version, current map version, request code or other technical information.
The customer is responsible for providing accurate and complete information.
The customer is specifically responsible for ensuring that any VIN, body/chassis number or other vehicle identification number is entered correctly.
The customer is also responsible for providing the correct navigation system, hardware generation, firmware version, current map version and other technical information requested for the product.
If a customer provides incorrect or incomplete information and Navi-World generates a product, PIN, activation code, licence or other item based on that information, Navi-World is not responsible for problems caused solely by the incorrect information supplied by the customer, subject to mandatory statutory rights.
No Prior Compatibility Consultation
If the customer has not requested or received a compatibility assessment from a Navi-World specialist before placing the order, Navi-World relies on the technical and vehicle information supplied by the customer.
In such circumstances, the customer is responsible for:
- identifying the vehicle correctly;
- identifying the navigation or infotainment system correctly;
- providing the correct firmware and software version;
- entering the correct VIN or body/chassis number;
- selecting the correct region and map version;
- selecting the correct product;
- ensuring that the ordered product is compatible with the vehicle and system.
Where the customer independently selects and orders a product without prior consultation with a Navi-World specialist, responsibility for compatibility and proper operation resulting from that selection rests with the customer, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
This does not apply where the issue is caused by Navi-World supplying an incorrect product, incorrect files, an incorrect code, a defective product, or otherwise failing to provide the product as described.
16. Orders That Include Both Physical and Digital Products
Where an order contains both physical and digital products, each component is considered according to the legal rules applicable to that type of product.
The return or refund status of one component does not automatically determine the status of another component.
For example, a physical navigation SD card may remain subject to the applicable statutory withdrawal rules while a separately supplied digital map update may be subject to rules concerning digital content and immediate performance.
17. Commercial Returns Outside the Statutory Right
For business customers or returns that are not covered by a mandatory statutory right, Navi-World may offer a return, exchange or other solution at its discretion.
Any such commercial return arrangement is subject to the conditions agreed between Navi-World and the customer.
Commercial return conditions do not restrict mandatory consumer rights applicable to consumers.
18. Contact Before Returning a Product
Customers should contact Navi-World before sending a product back.
To help process a return efficiently, customers should provide, where applicable:
- order number;
- customer name;
- product name;
- reason for the return;
- vehicle make and model;
- VIN or other relevant vehicle information;
- photographs or videos;
- screenshots or error messages;
- tracking information if the product has already been returned.
Customers should not send products to an address other than the return address provided by Navi-World.
19. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Returns & Refunds Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or replace any mandatory consumer rights applicable to the customer.
Depending on the transaction and applicable law, customers may have statutory rights relating to:
- withdrawal from distance contracts;
- conformity of goods;
- defective goods;
- incorrect or incomplete products;
- digital content and digital services;
- repair or replacement;
- price reduction;
- refund or termination of the contract.
Where mandatory consumer legislation provides a greater or different right than the terms stated in this policy, the mandatory legal provisions prevail.
Any commercial warranty or additional return policy offered by Navi-World does not reduce the customer’s statutory rights.
20. Right of Withdrawal — 14 Days
For consumers purchasing physical products online within the European Union or another jurisdiction where a statutory cooling-off period applies, the customer generally has the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
For a contract concerning physical goods, the withdrawal period generally begins when the customer, or a third party designated by the customer, receives the goods.
The customer must communicate the decision to withdraw within the applicable withdrawal period.
After notifying Navi-World of the withdrawal, the customer must return the physical product within the period required by applicable law.
The right of withdrawal is separate from statutory rights relating to defective or non-conforming products.
Certain products or circumstances may be subject to statutory exceptions or conditions affecting the right of withdrawal, including:
- digital content where supply has begun following the customer’s express request and legally required acknowledgement;
- certain services that have been fully performed following the customer’s express request and acknowledgement;
- goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised, where the statutory exception applies;
- other statutory exceptions established by applicable consumer law.
For vehicle-specific products such as VIN-specific PIN codes, activation codes, licence codes and licences, the withdrawal position depends on the legal classification of the product and the applicable statutory exception. Where such a product is genuinely personalised or otherwise falls within a statutory exception, it may be excluded from the right of withdrawal.
Nothing in this section limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
21. Applicable Law
This policy is intended to operate in accordance with the mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to the relevant transaction.
Nothing in this policy is intended to deprive a consumer of mandatory rights granted by the law applicable to their purchase.
If any provision of this policy is found to be invalid, unenforceable or contrary to mandatory law, that provision shall be interpreted or limited to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.
22. Return Shipping Costs
Returns Due to Change of Mind
Where a consumer exercises the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal simply because they have changed their mind, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the physical product to Navi-World, provided that Navi-World informed the customer of this obligation before the purchase.
The customer must arrange and pay for the return shipment unless Navi-World has expressly agreed to cover the return shipping costs.
If the customer selected a more expensive delivery method, such as express or priority delivery, Navi-World is not required to reimburse the additional cost above the least expensive standard delivery option.
Incorrect, Defective or Non-Conforming Products
Where a return is required because Navi-World supplied an incorrect product, a defective product, or a product that does not conform to the contract, Navi-World will cover reasonable return shipping costs where required by applicable law.
Customers should contact Navi-World before returning such a product so that the appropriate return procedure can be provided.
Tracking and Proof of Return
Customers are strongly advised to use a tracked postal or courier service and retain proof of dispatch and the tracking number.
Where the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs, the customer is also responsible for arranging the return shipment and ensuring that the product is adequately packaged and protected during transportation.
Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer rights applicable to the transaction.
Restocking Fee
Where a customer requests a return due to a change of mind, incorrect product selection, incorrect compatibility information supplied by the customer, or another reason attributable to the customer, Navi-World may apply a restocking and processing fee of up to 30% of the product price, where permitted by applicable law.
The fee may reflect costs associated with inspecting, testing, repackaging, reprocessing, re-listing or otherwise preparing the returned product for resale.
